Is this an anthomyiidae ?
I found this fly in my garden about 3 weeks ago. It was very territorial, chasing anything flying by. I think it may be an anthomyiidae ?
Help with identifications, field craft and other topics relating to Diptera

I found this fly on ivy a week ago, on the seaside (South Gower). I just don't know where to start .... Can somebody help me with this? Thank you.

Hi, my most recent Clusiodes ? albimanus is by far the darkest that I have ever seen, and reviewing previous specimens has reminded me that they are a motley crew, which I was never absolutely sure. Based on having a presutural dorsocentral, post verticals present, and three orbitals, the upper one being sometimes quite weak. The Diptera Info site shows albimanus as resembling mine quite closely in its Gallery section but several identified in the forum have pale legs.
Does anyone recognise this species please?
I collected this Muscidae at over 800 metres altitude in the Cairngorms last June (DF Field week). I just cannot run it down with keys or descriptions. It does not appear to be one of the British Drymeia (very densely hairy eyes), or any Phaonia, or Helina. It's not Spilogona as far as I can make out, nor Thricops. Where am I going wrong?! Can anyone suggest anything? My best bet is Spilogona I guess, so meanwhile I am going to be running through descriptions of Spilogona species. Do any Spilogona have the dilated gena of this fly?
I've just found a male Neria that I'd identified as N.cibaria, probably on the basis of the colour of the upper frons, i.e. orange right up to the anterior ocellus, BUT with the post abdomen of N.commutata. I've trawled internet images (though I know they can be unreliable) and find the upper frons is shown as velvety black in this species (as described in Darwyn's key).
I occasionally get sent photographs to identify in Lincolnshire, and this illustrates a group that I can't handle. Any level of identification would be useful to provide feedback and keep people interested. It was photographed 31/8/20 in coarse vegetation and scrub on damp ground.
The attached images are from a site in Worcestershire, taken in mid August and have been sent out from the Wildlife Trust for ID.
As I'd attended the Dipterists Forum course on Picture wings at Preston Montfort I thought I'd have a go.
I think it is Chaetorellia jaceae from the draft keys given out by David Clements. Is it?

Hi, can anyone help with this male specimen? I think it is a member of the Fanniidae, have attached photos to try to show hind tibia, it’s the Arista that is troubling me, long plumose seems to indicate Piezura miki in Fonseca? I have extended the genitalia but a micro pin is still in place while the specimen dries out!
Many thanks
Antony
I don't normally attempt Lucilia but I am wondering if there is enough in this image to make it Lucilia silvarum? It's a single image taken on a boggy field (The Spearwort Fields) in Leicestershire, VC55, on 15.viii.2020.
