Hi, can anyone help with this male specimen? I think it is a member of the Fanniidae, have attached photos to try to show hind tibia, it’s the Arista that is troubling me, long plumose seems to indicate Piezura miki in Fonseca? I have extended the genitalia but a micro pin is still in place while the specimen dries out!
Many thanks
Antony

Thanks Howard, I will run it through the key again treating it as a Muscid.
In the meantime I will try to find a better method for taking a photo through my microscope eyepiece with my phone!
Sorry Antony, I can't make out any detail in those photos. Are you able to upload some larger/higher resolution ones?
