Northants and Peterborough (VC32) Diptera Group

Bombylius major

We have been studying the local fly fauna for several years and welcome new members to our group. No experience is necessary, there is no membership fee (although we encourage joining Dipterists Forum) – all we ask is that you pass on any records to the county recorder. We hold field meetings every Sunday morning from the end of April to sometime in September and have a few indoor workshops during the winter to help with identifications. We work closely with the local Wildlife Trust and Biodiversity Records Centre both to provide them with information about our fly fauna and also to gain access to sites otherwise not open to the public. Meetings are very informal. If you are interested in joining us please contact John Showers.

For local Diptera news and meetings programme see the Northants and Peterborough Diptera Group website.
