A new recording scheme has been launched, covering the five UK species of kelp fly in families Coelopidae, Heterocheilidae and Helcomyzidae. The scheme organiser is Donald Smith, who has compiled a brief guide to the distinctive heads of the five species, which can be downloaded from the recording scheme page.
