We are expecting the first Dark-edged Bee-flies (Bombylius major) to appear in the next few weeks, maybe even next week! (The earliest ever record was on 17 February in 2019.) Which means that it is time for #BeeFlyWatch to start up again. This is now in its seventh year, gathering information on bee-fly distribution and flight periods, and hopefully enthusing lots of people to take an interest in flies along the way.
