Just trying out image upload to see if it's possible to generate a small thumbnail image that can be clicked to enlarge.
It only appears possibel to upload an image in one size.
This image shows what I believe Collin called the episterna in his 1961 work on Empidid flies. I would call this the pronotum (top arrow), but reading the text in several places in his keys leads me to believe that Collin was calling this feature the episterna. What conclusions have others come to when using this key?

Hi Nigel, I've taken the liberty of adjusting your photo so that the click to full-size works. I think you've got this working on one of your other posts, but you need to save a small version of the image as well as the full-size one. (I agree it's a long-winded process, we will find out if a simpler alternative is available!)
Also, many thanks for sorting out this terminology at the Preston Montford course, it makes the keys much easier to follow! Perhaps we should point out that using "episterna" in this way seems to be unique to Collins' Empididae keys, is that right?
I don't know how I managed it, but I have uploaded a small version of the original file. However it does not operate as a clickable thumbnail to open the larger file.
