Flesh fly for ID?

Submitted by RTHeene on

The great seamstress has been at work stitching along the top of this individual's head. Does this point to a clear ID? (An expert has previously identified a similar one for me as being a Sarcophaga sp., hence the subject applied here.) I'd appreciate assistance, please.

The morphology of the head (and the time of year) points to one of the Leucophora species (Anthomyiidae). They are nest parasites of aculeates, so you may see some interaction between them and their hosts.
